Hot starting tips...carb tuning

Many of you may have heard of my carb woes I was having with my Nice 110. I tried a VM22, PE20 and finally settled on a VM20 what appears to be working great. After working down from a 180 main jet I ended up with an oddly small 130 main, but the plug looks good and engine temps have not gone much beyond 110, what is not bad for a non-broken in Nice.

Anyhow, the VM20 came with a 22.5 pilot what I switched out for 20 because the 22.5 seemed to rich.

The bike starts first kick when cold, almost telepathic...but hot starting it takes me 3 to 4 kicks to get going.

Any suggestions how to cure the hot starting issues?

Hot engines tend to have less valve clearance and you lose compression. This is the situation on the 90 cc motors and might indicate tight valves on yours.

Good tip. I know air cooled motors can be more problematic to start when hot anyhow.

I'll check the valve clearances again (its not been that longs since i last checked, but it would not hurt.)
