How are folks stripping steel parts for painting please?

Having begun restoration on my 1970 CT70, I've removed the air box and the seat hinge. Both need repainting. The wheel rims also will at some point.
I have chemical stripper which is of course messy and requires wire brushing for corners at times. What please is the accepted way to strip small parts paint in a bike restoration?
I've considered a small Harbor Freight handheld sand blasting gun too.
What say you experts please? Thank you. Don

Steel parts respond well to glass bead blasting. It removes the paint & rust, leaving behind an ideal "white" metal surface with just the right texture.
