How is the fuel price where you live?

With E10 a vehicle doesn't get near the mileage as it does on E-free gas. I'm not sure the cost difference makes up for it. I just filled up my little truck this morning and all around I get about 21mpg. Next fill up I will use the E-free gas and check the difference. Also, I heard just a bit of a report (ABC radio, I think) that E-20 and E-30 gas is coming soon. Not %100 sure...maybe someone else can elaborate on it. BTW I paid 4.29 The Chevron near me is 4.39

I live 30min East of Tulsa. 3 days ago I paid 4.20 a gallon for 87pure. I think the ethanol was 3.65. Just heard on the radio this morning that we have the lowest prices in the nation right now. Of course Tulsa has a few refineries and untold amounts of oil wells.

The late great Don Williams must have known something we didn't when he sang:

"Well then I got to thinking, man I must be sinking, and I really had a flash this time
I had no business leaving, and nobody would be grieving if I went on back to Tulsa time
Living on Tulsa time, living on Tulsa time
Gonna set my watch back to it,' cause you know I've been through it
Living on Tulsa time"

It's true, Biden banned fracking.
I read it on Facebook.
I remember hearing him say it. Never seen it on FakeBook though. They are now trying to get Venezuela and Iran to pump more oil and stop the sanctions against them. Why not just increase it here? Iran hates our guts.

There's your problem. Well....part of it anyway.

My 95 LeSabre hates ethanol, so I have to run 87pure in it. Mileage goes way down and needed injector cleaner almost every tank full. It also caused the fuel filter quick connect to rot from the inside out(plastic).

In 2019 the US became a net exporter of oil for the 1st time in something like 40-50 years. For people like slowjoel, that means we pumped more oil than we needed and sold the excess on the world market. Now, thanks to slowJoe, we are now begging sh**hole countries, that hate us, and don't produce oil nearly as cleanly as the US, to please produce more. That puts the kibash on the climate change BS too.

I don't think it's the fuel. It's 27 years old, and it's a GM car. LOL You should get on your knees, look to the sky above, clasp your hands in front of your face and thank the Lord that the car runs at all.

Having live in CA for 55 years, I've had nothing but E10 fuel. I don't think that I've had any fuel related issues with it. And, I've had 90's era GM cars.......no more tho. We have a '10 Silverado that has been pretty good, tho. But, not nearly the quality of the Toyota Sequoia we had before it.

LOL. No, actually it does hate it. It runs fine as long as you run pure in it. It has 234Kmiles and still runs pretty good. I've had it for over 20years and know it pretty well. I keep thinking the tranny's going to go any day now, but I've changed its filter every 20-40K miles and it still shifts smooth. The oil every 3K.

Also have a Sequoia and its going back on mothballs because of the gas prices. I put 91pure in my '91 Sonoma, but rarely use it but for pickup needs and the occasional backroad hot rodding. The 4.3 5speed(and some goodies) can be alot of fun.lol

This is what makes no sense. Here in So Cal, it seems like 10% of the cars on the road are Teslas or some other electric vehicle. A year ago, electricity was the cheapest from 10 pm to 8 in the morning ( 17 cents a KWH). All these electric car owners are now setting their chargers to charge during this time. So Edison raised the price of electricity during this super off peak time of day (now 29 cents) . So obviously, these electric vehicles are making an impact, so you'd think gasoline usage would decrease some. But we have the highest fuel prices in the nation. ( and we're the state with the highest percentage of renewable energy). I was around in '74-75 when there actually was a fuel shortage. There were long lines, limits on purchases, odd, even days, and many stations ran out of fuel. The federal government responded with a 55 mph national speed limit. The auto industry responded with cars like the Pinto Based Mustang, the Chrysler K car, and even the diesel Chevette. Today I see no fuel shortages, no compact sedans for sale, but plenty of 700 horsepower muscle cars, 7000 lb pickup trucks and the promise of an electric future (I think because it sounds good to the public, but really because that's where the profit is). I don't blame Trump, I don't blame Biden, I don't trust any politician. I just look at the facts , try to follow the money, and it just makes no sense to me.

I think a part of the problem in your neck of the woods is very high fuel taxes and its costs more now to bring in that fuel to your state.

Btw, I would love to have one of those 700HP muscle cars. Cant afford to drive one, but at least I could look at it.lol

If tomorrow suddenly %30 of the cars on the road were EV what do you think is gonna happen to electricity costs? Add to that already the fact people that can't afford 5$ gas are subsidizing the people that can, and can afford a $50,000 + EV. And the electricity to charge all of these cars doesn't come from burning unicorn farts. And wind and solar aint gonna do it either.

Brilliant plan Go D's!

I livedin N California (the real N CA. Oakland S.F isn't N CA LOL) and we were getting raped by PG&E. Electricity was .16/kwh on baseline. If I ran the A/C and the microwave for a minute it would put us on tier 1 at .21/kwh and then on to tier 2 at .28/kwh. PG&E was our only choice. Here in ID I pay .08/kwh and it has the tiers also that go to .16 and .21. I have a pump that irrigates my pasture, but it's a bit less as it's considered ag power.

Los Angeles Diesel is closing in on $7.00 / gallon gasoline, I use bio Diesel, this is not veggie Diesel , it's still under $6.00 / gallon but for how long ? .

My truck is a 2001 Ford Ranger with 2.5 Liter 4 banger and 5 speed manual box, it's small but I'm retired and it fits my Motocycles if Ioad them cross wise in the bed , 25 MPG so I'll stick with it .

I've been fond of economy cars since the early 1960's when you grow up broke on a farm you learn to not $pend foolishly .

I was looking for a Ranger recently, but the prices were just stupid! Not kidding there was a 93 Ranger, 4 cyl, 4x4, ex cab, 140k miles and they were asking 10,900. And there was also a 2004, single cab, 2wd, it had only 45k miles and the asking price was 11,400. And any of the Rangers in the 3500-5000 range were junk, or had 250,000 miles on em.
Not a joke. So, I found an Isuzu I-290 (it s a chevy colorado) for 5,000 OTD. Its a 07, extra cab with the clam shell doors 2.9 4 cyl and 5 speed, 139k miles. I've put 2k miles on it so far and it's a pretty solid litle truck. And I can fit 2 bikes in it. My other truck is a V-10 F250...its thirsty!

My brother has one of those Rangers with a stick. Besides being a good all around vehicle, it's one of the few that can be safely towed behind a motorhome with no damage to the drivetrain. I forgot to mention the one good thing that happened during the oil crisis of the mid seventies. Muscle cars of the late 60's were friggin' dirt cheap. I bought a '64 Corvette for $1100, my brother bought a '69 Road Runner for $800 and a '69 Hurst Olds for $900, my dad bought a '70 383 Challenger convertible for $1000. Those 4 cars today would be worth over a quarter of a million dollars. Oh yeah, and right now Edison charges 59 cents a KWH at top tier.

Great news errbody! I just heard some of the DC criminals, while patting themselves on the back, that pretty soon gas will be below $4/gal. Isn't that great? I guess I'll go ahead and get that new F250 with the 7.3 gas engine in it.
