Yes, my old Mercedes are all Diesels .
I'm down to two now .
At one point I had a 1975 W107 350SLC with stick shift and V8 gasser engine, that was a super fub car but it was rusty so off it went .
I've not done a mileage check on the Honda but it's amazingly good, I just don't like the car .
I should prolly stick the fresh engine in my '59 VW Beetle, those get an easy 32 ~ 35 MPG consistently and for some odd reason I still like to drive them, being death traps doesn't bother me at all but I do worry about my Sweet, I'd be bereft if she got hurt riding in my jalopy .
When first I bought this 240D it got high 20's MPG's in town and 32 + on our Desert trips fully loaded with the AC in ice cold, I don't know why it's dropped into the mid 20's now but it always starts and goes, is nice to drive (sort of like a BIG 1950's VW but safer) and doesn't smoke like so many do, mostly because of improper maintenance .
My 2001 Ford Ranger base model pickup with 130,000 miles, 2.4L 4 banger and 5 speed manual box get 25 MPG no matter how I drive it, that's fine, I like it too , nothing fancy to break .
