Ignition Switch wiring question

This switch is not the typical 6 wire ignition switch (5 to a plug and 1 green wire). I am trying to bring a CT70 clone (12 volt) back to life and need some help with the wiring. It has only OFF and ON instead of OFF POS I and POS II. There are only 4 wires connected to the switch, Red, Pink, Black [with White stripe] and Black [with a Red stripe]. When the switch is turned to on the red and the pink wires are connected.

Any help is appreciated...Dan

off position will disconnect the 12V from the rest of the wiring system and disconnects the ground from the CDI
red should be the 12v coming from the rectifier.
pink will be the 12v going to the rest of the harness.
Black/white is the ground going to the lights/frame
black/red is the ground going to the CDI

Are you replacing the current wiring with a new wiring harness?
I had to rewire my neighbors CT70 clone with a new harness from Dratv. It had the same color wiring at the switch that you have. But they didn’t match the new harness.
I also had to re-arrange the wires in the plug to match the ones in the harness.
Ground and 12V were mixed up.

Thanks for the information on the ignition switch. Here is what I have ... A wiring harness of some sort with wires soldered to other wires and wrapped in electrical tape. The switch is no good because it doesn't have a key. I had to pick it open to see which wires connected.

Is the wiring harness from Dratv a good way to go? Where would I be able to pick up an ignition switch to match up with Dratv's harness? ... Dan

That’s exactly how his was but he had a key. I would take the key to a locksmith first. It might be a little cheaper.

The wiring harness is worth it but the wiring didn’t match up with the existing wiring. I had to pull the wiring out of the plugs and re-arrange them so they would work with the lights and controls.

Thanks for all the help. Probably $15 for a locksmith? Might be able to buy a new lock off Ron who sells clone parts. At least I am one step ahead after talking to you and confirming that the wiring harness that came with the bike wasn't put together by some kid, rather the company selling the bikes. No markings on the bike makes it difficult to say the least to figure out who made the bike.

Anyway, I ran into a really nice guy who has plenty of CT70 parts left over from restoring CT70's and as soon as I can get driving again on these ice covered streets I am going to head over to his house and mayby turn this thing back in to a REAL Honda.
