Looks like the real deal from here, that is a great deal! Nice find!
Snatch up all of them you can for that price! It looks just like the chrome in the back of the plate section that doesn't adhere in the middle just like a original.

And the verdict is... Aftermarket.

They look pretty nice actually. But they have burr edges in many areas. They are missing the welded in washers at the frame mounts. The metal feels just a touch thinner and it weighs 1.5 oz less than the original. The metal doesn't quite line up right on one of the top license plate holes. Slight difference in the shape of the little notch that's cut on the side of the part. Last thing, the chrome is different. Too smooth and shiny. The grommets are prolly standard electrical grommets, and the metal spacers are aluminum.
Bummer.

But again, they're not too bad. If they would get rid of all the sharp edges they'd have somethin.
I'll be lookin to unload them, (I have 2) if anyone's interested.
Original part is on the left in my pics.

Yup, Dr 411. I've acquired a few of his parts over the years. I have the painted black version of this tl bracket too. And a rear rack that won't even mount up.

I'd rather do without then buy from him. He's a total jerk and I only bought a rear rack from him. Maybe he can take more pictures of something with his usual pile of crap in the background.

Thanks for your candor Kirb, I kinda had a feeling that they were aftermarket but not many peeps outside this site could tell. They still look nice and a 1.5oz difference only matters when negotiating ...ahem* never mind. :)

Mmm... I paid 65 each. I'll take a loss I'm sure. No sweat. I win some...so I don't mind too much when I lose on some. Risk and reward.

1978 k7?

Just wanted to share something that I thought was interesting. I got a 78 CT70 manual in the mail today. On the back in small print it has K7, which works if you think about it. We consider the K4 to be the last K model designation, before they started using the year to distinguish between models.
