I've been reading around, but cant seem to find any specific guides about fitment and installation of the 125cc Lifan engines in 1973 trail 70s. Most of them are just the finished projects. So I was wondering, is this engine essentially plug and play? What kind of fitment issues can I run into? Anyone have tips on when I install it. I had my ct70 running not too long ago, it seemed to be running lean, so I went to adjust the jet in the carb and now it wont start. Even after resetting the jet needle. This isn't the first time i've had issues, and i've been planning to swap out the engine ever since I got the bike. I would just like to here how much modification if any goes into getting the engine to fit. Thank you all!

I put a 125cc Lifan in my 1998, 2000, 2002 XR70r hybrid and love the engine. It starts on 1st kick, isn't finicky about gas type and has super power. I put the largest front sprocket that will fit for speed and it goes 60mph with plenty of acceleration and power. I suggest you get one of these so you don't have to convert to 21v. https://tboltusa.com/store/voltage-regulator-rectifier-6v-type-p-503.html
