Lifan Tuning Issues

Good Evening,
I installed a Lifan 125 electric start on my 82’ C70 and I’m having some issues. I have a 26mm minuki clone on there. The bike generally runs good, but if I cruise at speed (45MPH+) for longer than let’s say three minutes when I slow down at a light it boggs terribly and dies. At certain throttle settings when decelerating it stutters and pops too. The mixture seems to be okay from the spark plug. Fuel flow seems to be good. Any ideas? Thanks

Does it idle ok? Does it surge at full throttle, does it feel happy cruising at 45? How does it run at half throttle? 26 is a pretty big carb for a 125. Try lowering the needle two notches (two notches higher on the needle) and see how it runs.

I would start looking at the plug, white is too lean. You are going for chocolatey brown. Post a pic of the plug and give us the jet numbers. Stutter and popping on deceleration sounds lean to me. The cheap knockoff carbs are jetted lean and need bigger jets. 15 pilot and 95 main jets are the norm ''out of the box'' in the cheapo vm26 knockoff and you should step it up to around a 22.5 pilot and 100 main leave the needle clip in the middle for starters on a 125.

I’ve just done the same standard was 115 pilot, main 95 wouldn’t run with out bogging .
Changed pilot to 22.1 and a 100 main seems fine now 👍🏍
(Lifan 125cc ) so spot on Old CT

You mean #15 pilot, yea way too lean. Never trust carb jetting that comes with their supplied carb. China does NOT R&D carburetors that they sell you! Sad. Right? The jetting they give you runs, but then acts up soon after. Lean.
