It'll stand out regardless. The "lift handle", a.k.a. "grab handle" is NOT a CT70 part and never was. It was only original equipment on ST70/Dax versions of the CT70, which were/are non US-market bikes. The purpose of the handle was to assist pulling the bike backwards, onto the centerstand. CT70s of 6v all came equipped with sidestands...which we know better as kickstands. If you're going for originality, skip the handle and paint damage it will cause once the bolts are tightened. Functionally, it's useless.

FYI, the CT70 was an early example of a "world vehicle", long before the term was coined. The frames were, with few exceptions, all the same; all are interchangeable...without exception. The lift handle mounting bosses, on US-spec (CT70) models original had rubber plugs (which are still available). Dax models had the engine guard mounting bosses; yet, none ever came fitted with engine guards (a handful of JDM models being the only exception).

Thanks for that info! So much to learn as this is my first ct70. So my 76 ct70 had rubber plugsin bolt holes? Where can I buy them?

Interesting. Honda has a part number for the plugs for the 1976 that is different than the plug part number for the 1979. I needed two of these and just looked at partzilla, saw they were NLA for the '79, and ordered them from NEVC.

Guess I will have to pay more attention.

Seriously, as long as they fit the holes I'd consider them the correct pn. There's more than enough stuff to overthink...these aren't part of that list, IMHO.;)

I have a NOS lift handle. I'll probably never use it.

Even though it may not be "officially" part of the bike, they are a god send for rearranging the bikes in your garage, and lifting the bike for transport. Without one, good luck! Maybe that's why I see so many cracked and bent seats....

There's certainly ways to "lift" the bike without one, but that handle is a usability breakthrough.
