I know there's forums for Clones, but figured I'd get a quicker response here. Found a Dealership with a new Tao Tao 125cc on a CT70 clone frame. I think they've had it for a few yearsa and with 0 miles. Are these the same as Lifan's, or a lower quality? Really thinking about buying it, but want to know if they're junk. Thank you for any responses.

I used to work for a Carquest that sold them in another store .They have been selling them for several years and have had good luck with them .I am talking about the Tao Tao brand in general ,not your specific model .They would not sell them if they were garbage as they serviced them and stocked and sold parts as well .I hope this helps but I would go for it .

All else aside, if you want to ride on the road, you'll want to verify that it can be titled. Some cannot, and compliance certification gets tougher every year, making the street-legal clones fewer & further between.

I was thinking about the title issue as well. Even with a title, is there a chance that it cannot be licensed? IMO, "Not for highway use" is different than "Street use".
