low fork ride height ideas

I'm tinkering with fork ride height options on this CT. It's pretty close, but I've got about 1.5 to 2" that I think I'd like to drop it down further in the front.

I'm considering a couple options.

Opt 1: stiff front end; remove spring altogether and accept that it's gonna be a rougher ride, since It's mostly going to be a show off bike, rather than functional.

Opt 2: cut down the fork legs to a Z50 length, as shown, and then take a small amount of spring out. It will still have some travel, I'll just need to be certain that it won't bottom out anywhere, and that the fork boot is resized if needed.

Anyone done this before, and have some wisdom on what you did?

Thanks in advance!

Does it look like you can attach the Z50 lower leg to the CT upper spring assembly? That should lower it and still not bottom out.

In that picture of the z50 is attached. So yes either will work, but the z50 doesn't have the right fork base. I was just using it for a height measurement

On my Chaly I cut down the ct70 lower legs and repinned the spot where the roll pin goes. I used a set of z50 springs from fast50s I think. I know they are stiffer and maybe shorter.

For those rear shocks, you will need to tinker with sprockets to avoid chain rub on the swingarm.

Ah thank you! These are the springs from fast 50s. I'll pay attention to the sprocket. You had to get a bigger sprocket to prevent the rub? Then change front sprocket size to coordinate?
