Main Switch Wiring Help!

I am working on the wiring of my XL70 and have hit a road block. I chased a wire that was without power back to the Key main switch. the wire labeled E that connects to the head light is the one and I found it has no power at the solder when other components did, meaning it isn't a bad wire. I am assuming that the problem lies here but I cannot open up the housing to figure it out. I am confused by the labeling of these wires, I understood that E stood for Earth/ground but the Headlights were attached here. the taillight is labeled "HL" which I assumed was for "Headlight". the positive of the battery is connect to G which has broken my understanding. I would appreciate the advice of someone who understands more than me.
are these wired wrong and I should trust the labeling to fix it?
Is it Wired Correctly and the labels don't mean what I think?
Does someone at least know how to open one these things so I can figure this out?

Please help if you can!

PS. I am unworried about the yellow wired labeled SF or the black ignition wire as the bike starts on the first kick.

Did you check it with bike running? Headlight is powered from stator.
i just tried that and i got no reading from the wire, i got power from all other wires coming in (minus the green, negative wire), is the power not running threw the main witch here? i am pretty sure that the yellow wire is running from the stator and that had power, i think i just need to crack open this housing and clean/repair.
btw this is the main wiring diagram that i have been using but there a few inconsistancies
