Mets magic number!

Good news BCMC! Your team, the Dodgers ex manager Dyno Don Mattingly is now the manager of ''your'' home state team, the Marlins. Hmm, isn't that ironic also? Maybe they will do a little better next year.

Thanks for the update OCT. In post #3 I simply stated that I hoped the Dodgers beat the Mets. This does not make me a Dodgers fan. I like the game of baseball and admire many organizations, teams, and players (even fans). The Mets just are not on my list for that. My "home state" happens to have two MLB teams, the Marlins and the Rays. I think Don Mattingly (Donnie Baseball, not Dyno Don the drag racer) will be the Marlins' eighth manager in five years which is ridiculous and indicates an unstable and insane owner (one that I would like to see go away soon).

Don't worry, in 2000 the Mets lost the first two games and won the third. Everyone knows after that the Mets went on to .... oops... never mind. :)

That's fine, I had to use a little gear head reference. LOL! I like the sound of Dyno Don better than Donny baseball, which I actually am aware of... I'm just happy my team made it this far! Yes, I am a fan of baseball in general when my team doesn't make it. We all know it's been awhile for the Mets.

Met's regrets - 1) hearing Harvey say "No Way" after being told great game your not pitching the ninth. 2) reversing that decision and giving in to his ego. 3) not pulling him after he walks the first batter in the ninth

Way to go KC!

I think the Mets' loss has more to do with having a catcher without a sufficient arm to throw out base stealers and errors made by fielders. Also, the addition of Cespedes which helped the team in the second half failed them in the series. The series was lost in the first at bat of the first game when Escobar drilled that shot to the outfield and Cespedes lost it for the inside the park home run. That set up the aggressive play after that by the Royals.

If you listened to Cespedes after bungled play questioning by reporters, he always had an excuse. He has not owned up to anything. Staying in the at bat when he bounced the foul ball off his knee was beyond comparison, along with the manager not making him trot down to first to see if he was field-ready.

The Royals are good and you can't give them an edge because they will exploit mistakes.

Totally agree with everything you typed red69, it was the best World Series I have seen in a looong time! Hats off to K.C.! Now back to dinner, I don't wanna burn my steak!
