Mexican Navy ship SLAMS into the Brooklyn Bridge that is ''20 feet'' taller than the bridge. Glad the bridge is OK... How STUPID can you be?

???. It's like can opener-ing a box truck under a low bridge... Never did that, thank goodness, read the signs and understand English.

The ship was on a tour promoting Mexico. It was captained by someone teaching. Not sure how one could even think it'd fit through as I'm sure navigational aids said NO!

The latest news that I read was a mechanical failure with the steering, it was not intending to sail under the bridge, but was unable to turn around as intended and hit the bridge

WEith all of these bridge hits, and critical linking bridges DESTROYED, perhaps tugs need to be paid to be nearby when these ships (and paid by the ships, not us) are near bridges.

I would think the ship would have dual anchors. They thought they had Bremo's, Wilwood or something? I didn't realize at the time it was a training ship. I do not believe it was mechanical, as that would be the FASTEST boat incident investigation in history. 100% operator error. Sad for the two that perished the next day.
