Motor vibration, now loose part in the clutch cover

I was riding home from work yesterday on my CT70 with a Loncin 125cc motor. I stopped at a light and noticed that the motor had an unusually strong vibration when I revved it.

I got to my destination a mile a way or so with no issues except the vibration, the motor had typical power and wasn't smoking or anything out of the ordinary. It shifted fine and wasn't making an bad noises. It just vibrated like an old 500cc 2-stroke in the mid RPM range..

I pulled the clutch cover off to find a little part sitting in at the bottom of the motor. Here are some pictures.

Unsure how your loncin 125 motor works, but it looks like the spring and sleeve that is in the 3 speed 70 and 50 motors semi auto clutch. It goes in the center of the auto disengage assembly and pusses up against the clutch cover (clutch adjuster) that also serves as a oil passage. If you took your clutch cover off with the motor in the bike this might of fell out.

The Loncin 125 is a 4-speed manual.
 
Just had a look at my 125cc 4 speed liffan shop manuel and it has one, Just a thought you should look into it as the basic design of thies motors are all the same

I'll look again when I get home. Do you have an soft copy of the shop manual so I can see exactly what you are talking about?

Don't think this is the root of the vibration. I can't really expect much from a free motor....

No its not your vibration but if i was to bet what this part is, my money is on what is decribed above.
As for motor vibrations check your mounts, pull the other side have a look at your mag and even the key way.

If you pull in your clutch and rev the motor just think of what is spinning MAG, clutch, i would even take apart your clutch to see if any friction plates have come apart or are worn bad.
 
check the clutch mounted trans shaft for side to side play.it shouldnt move much if its ok.usually the mid rpm vibration sets in right before the trans is getting ready to LUNCH.ask me how i know.i would keep the bike close to home at this point.
 
Well it turns out I'm a bit of an over reactor. I tore the side covers, primary and clutch off and it turned out to be loose motor mount bolts. I never think to check the simple things first. HAHA!
