Hey guys here some pics of my 2000 Jeep TJ with a 5.7 Hemi and manual 5 speed trans I finished building a little over a year ago.. I pulled the motor from a totaled 2015 challenger R/T that had a 6 speed manual trans With only 1743 miles. It was a Frame off build with Dana 44 air locker 4.10 axles, N.V 3500 trans, speed hut gauges, best top seats an floor mats,, hydro dipped trim pieces, i painted it with house of colors big flake sliver..it drives great and everything works..I’m still in the works of building a upper intake cover but I’ve had a hard time breaking away from my Honda builds lately!!!!!

Jeep makes it....Hemi shakes it! Cool build robert! Very tidy build looking at your pictures. Under the hood looks damn near factory. I like your style. RIP Challenger....but thanks for your organs. I miss my SRT challenger like crazy, but couldn't say no to the private sale price thanks to covid inflation.

For anyone wondering how the challenger motor fit I did have to swap the oil pan and all the parts on the front of the motor to truck style parts. Challengers have the alternator mounted on lower passenger side right where the frame runs on a Jeep the truck style mounts it on the top. The motor mount brackets are weld in from advanced adaptors.

My first "car" was 1972 FJ40 Landcruiser. My dad bought it new in 72. Somewhere in the mid/late 70s we put a small block chevy in it. That was quite a chore. And we didn't have to deal with ECU, electric fuel pump, smog equipment, etc. My dad gave it to me when I turned 16. I rear ended an f250 the day before I turned 19. DOH!!! Dad sold it after that. Man I wish I still had that rig!

After almost 3 years of not driving my Capri, other than out to the mailbox a couple of times, I finally got to it a couple of months ago. Had a rear main seal leaking. I pulled the stock 4 speed out I order to get to the pan. LOL Not a chance getting that pan off without lifting the motor. I just pulled the motor clear out just to make sure I get the leak fixed for sure. I'm gonna replace a few things with it out. P/S pump, fuel pump, plugs, wires, etc. I also picked up a Tremec T5 that's ready to go in. Its almost a direct swap. Almost....LOL

Looking good, but you need to detail that motor out before you put it back in. Don't you mean a Borg Warner T5. I've put 3 GM versions of the WC T5 in project cars and still have a spare T5 on the shelf.

Ya, idk how much detailing I'm going to do. I'm focused on the oil leaks and replacing parts while it's easy access. 1 thing about putting a big engine in a small car, almost nothing is easy to get to. I'd love to put a set of gt40 heads and a little more cam, but, that would make this car dangerous probably. LOL

No, it's a Tremec. These were used in 99-04 Mustangs. I had to change the input shaft and the shifter hole will need some trimming I think.

That looks just like a BW T5. Did some research and it turns out that Borg Warner sold its transmission division to Tremec who continued to manufacture the T5's. Essentially the same transmission. I did two V8 Vega conversions in my younger days, so I know a little about putting big engines in small cars, in fact I put a T5 in one of them. Stupid fast, horrible handling, weak brakes, frame flex, front end tweaked itself into negative camber. But a lot of fun.

I have a very similar engine stand, collapses into a pretty small space. Your Capri is essentially a fox body Mustang GT. My work buddy had a strong running one with a 302 but he had trouble getting it to pass smog. You're lucky you don't live in CA. If you're gonna keep it, I swap over to 5 lug and get some 17" bullit rims.

What??? I thought I had a rebadged Pontiac grand am! LOL
I'm very aware of what car I have. There is a difference in the body that make the capri different from the mustang. Not the grille or lights. Do you know?
I had a guy find me in a grocery store one day and wanted to trade straight across for a dressed out Harley. He said the bike was worth 20k. I told him to sell it then and come talk to me. LOL It looked much nicer back then.
