Damn, those are clean... nice Baja Bug in the avatar too, LOL, reminds me of tearing across a dry lake up by Red Mountain in the Mojave Desert. Unfortunately, the four of us were crammed into an old VW Bug which had NOT been tricked out, thing was totally underpowered and the transmission was held together with coat hanger wire. Of course, there were other times when just two of us WERE in a tricked-out Bug, but that was in Dago and northern Baja... meh, ya win some, ya lose some, LOL. That time the four of us were drinking beer and going all out across the dry lake in the Mojave, the Bug maxed out at something like double-nickel, speed-wise, and we actually got PASSED by two large landsailers going at least 60 m.p.h., go figure. Kinda weird, watching as ya get shown up by a friggin' wind-powered land yacht, but it was cool too, those landsailers were bad@$$, and each one had two crew members aboard... well, a skipper and a crew member, AYE??? Nice tall rigs too, very efficient in a breeze, which is probably why they passed our struggling VW, LOL. :cautious:
