The only thing constant is change. After selling my HK0 I used the proceeds to buy a new Grom. I know it really cant be compared to vintage steel of the CT70's but it is a lot of fun. It would be apples to oranges to compare the two so I wont. I will say the FI 125 has plenty to satisfy my around town needs, and the electronic instrumentation is a hoot. Clock fuel gauge and digital speed. Having fun with it and hope to connect with other Grom owners.

That bike is one that definitely has my attention. I'm not sure if I would want black or red and I did not know that white was available. Congratulations and it looks like a lot of fun and has enough top speed and acceleration to be safe around town.

not too shabby for an around town fun little bike. i don't know what they go for, but i have an idea, and i'd say kudos to you on your 40 year newer trade. i'm assuming you sold the hk0 and went to a dealer to get the grom. good way to do it, imo. i feel like a dealer would either undersell or grossly overprice an old bike like that.

In my experience with dealers, MC's or cars, they will pry every dollar they can out of you. Some years ago I traded in my boys CRF70 for the CRF100. The salesman seemed a little annoyed that the 70cc bike had alot of trade in value. They also try their best to sell(force) you the extended warranty. I don't mean to rant, but I just don't like dealing with them anymore.lol. The best way to do it is just like Ray did with his bikes. Sell yours on your own and then buy the new one below sticker price with cash. Done.

My Fake Grom built from parts from a 2000, 2002, and 2003 XR70's I found cheap on Craigslist. 125cc Lifan engine. The most expensive thing was converting a 12" wheel to a 14" hub. With a new Baja Designs Kit the total cost of this bike is around $1600 Btw, the front fender is actually yellow. I accidently picked a picture which I had altered with Windows Paint app to see if a black front fender would look better.

Deoodles, I looked at a Grom recently at a Honda dealership, and it seemed like the shape of the seat forces you to sit so far up that you're almost on the gas tank ... which would make for cramped shifting and braking (with your feet). I'm about 6' 1", so I'm not exactly NBA center height. Do you actually sit on the back half of the seat, or am I misjudging it? I didn't drive one but I did sit on it in the showroom.
