If I receive something from an ebay seller that's crappy or defective, I do still leave positive feedback, but I leave a comment saying the item was crappy or defective. Most ebay sellers are that, just sellers, they usually know nothing about what they're selling, but if they give enough refunds on an item, they'll get the message. Often, I'll get the refund and get to keep the item as well. Amazon's ok too, but the refunds aren't as quick or consistent because they often deal with third party sellers. I agree, the ebay feedback system isn't as clear as is used to be, but they usually side on the side of the buyer, not the seller.
