New Carb... Installing Question

I have a 1979 Honda ct70 and I just purchased a new OEM carb for it from Dr.Atv, and just had a couple of questions about it.

Check the picture. I put the question in the picture with labels.

Yes you can flip the fuel line valve. Are you sure your old carb didn't have the vent hose? Should enter into the air filter canister right side, top.

Now that I look at the picture I notice a spot where there should be a vent hose. Currently on the old carb it is just a gold rod coming out of the carb however I guess it is supposed to have a hose over it.

Also do I just leave the vent hose dangling because there is no place that I can see to screw it down.

Also what is the purpose of the two gas lines going into the carb... or is one a fuel drain of some sort.

Just run it under the filter with the fuel lines. That's what most do and I'll be doing the same on my next two builds.

You have three positions:

Main

Off

Reserve

Two fuel lines for Main and Reserve.

Alright that makes a lot more sense, one more question. Can I plug the fuel lines into any one of the two spots on the carb or is there a specific order.

i think the O is short for ''on''.yes you have to install the lines correctly as one is different than the other.reserve is the line on the very bottom of the tank.
