New Guy Honda CT70 Build

Well. I’m not sure, I haven’t tried to fit the front fender yet. But I don’t think the fuel tank drops under the lower fork clamp. So I should be fine on the fender...if I decide to run it. I’m kinda digging the no front fender look.

Everything I’ve read says the bikes stock fuel tank isn’t adequate to make a long trip so I knew I had to add an auxiliary tank. I’ve seen the rear rack mounted and the side mounted and really didn’t like those options. Especially the side...because I plan to run some saddle bags. So the only other thing I could think of was put it up front. This tank will give me another gallon. So I’ll rock it a while and see how it goes.
The new tank does however get in the way of the headlight mount. You can see in the pictures that I just got it up. I’m gonna have to get creative with this. I’m thinking I’ll just remake the side plate to lift the light to a higher position.

Hey everyone. I hope y’all are all staying warm. This weather has made it just about too cold for me to work in my shop but I was able to make these today. They don’t look like much, but a lot of work went into them. After I installed my aux gas tank, I had to figure a way to raise my headlight. And this is what I came up with. I used a drill, grinder and some files to make these from a piece of aluminum.

Ok Everyone... let’s talk about rear fender positioning with an extended Swingarm and larger tires. See below, in the stock position, the fender looks terrible.

So I added these two spacers to bring it into a better alignment with the rear tire.

These two. I loosened the top two bolts and added these in. Then tightened everything back down. Also I had to move the holes.

Im not sure if I’m married to this or not yet. I mean, it does he the fender more closely matching the tire. But does it look bad? What don you guys think?

Ask and ye shall receive here’s one with
And one without...I’m torn on this one

Thanks man!! Now I've got a full view, I think I'm gonna buck the trend and say without. I think 'with' makes it look too bunched up, cluttered and a bit too top heavy at the front with all the things piled up there. Just my opinion but, hey, who am I ? Your the one who has to like it............. its your bike and your the one that counts!! (y)

I think I agree with you. I’ll leave it off for now. Thanks for the help.

Anyone please help me with this. I’m not very knowledgeable about battery sizing. What size battery do I need for this build. I’ve got the Mighty Max battery box. But I’m totally lost on what to order. I don’t want to get it in and it not fit. What’s a good one for my bike???
