New Z50 Owner with Question

Hi there, I just got 2 1969 Z50K1's. One is complete but needs a little work and the other is the frame with wheels and forks. My question is if I want to restore one to absolute original condition, would swapping the engine from the red K1 to the yellow K1 be ok? The red frame s/n is 234--- and the yellow frame is 132---.

Any help would be great and I'm glad there is a place like this forum to get really helpful info.:monkey:

Just for reference,I'm the original owner of my K1,built in Sept of 69. The serial # of the frame is 5559 more than the engine.

Engine numbers

My opinion would be to get one in the 13xxxx range. The earlier bikes had closer frame - engine #'s. By the time they got to the late K2's (1971) it was a much bigger spread. 377444 frame, 338369 on the engine of my 71. One of my K1's has 221138 on the frame and 213120 engine. Good luck. Half the fun is the search.

Thanks-I haven't had time to get the engine serial number but I will tonight. The reason I was thinking that I wanted to use the yellow frame is because it's in much better condition than the red one which has a crack/separation above the rear axle.
