Hello to all the members, And thanks for letting me join the forum, First time I saw a CT70 I was 10 and wanted one since, 54 years later I finally brought one home last night that is going to need some help and so will I I'm sure, retired construction carpenter with no engine rebuilding experience but a little common sense which will hopefully help lol, I will get some pictures in the morning , it's taking a bath in WD40 tonight, I'm no mechanic but have restored, quite a few early 1970s Honda CB 350 bikes over the years only because I've always been a Honda fan and got to know those years and motors, also early 70s minibikes for the last maybe 5-6 years, minibikes are my passion after retiring, probably because I never had one as a kid but wanted one in the worse way, So this CT70 is at the top of the pile for me to clean up and get it running good and keep and enjoy around my place, The bike was advertised as red 1970 CT70 ,It was late and I had to take a small drive and hurried once I checked that the frame was solid under the seat (battery box) and bottom of the frame , I didn't realize until I got it home that the vin tag was gone? It's my first CT70 so I wasn't sure what I had but after a closer look this morning and locating the vin on the frame and some research I believe it is a 1970, 3 speed, which will make it a KO, am I correct? The serial reads CT70 - 212886 from what I gathered maybe a build date of around 8/70 with that serial number? I am going to the DMV tomorrow and run the vin before I get too deep into it just for piece of mind, Anything anyone can share will be appreciated about a build date or anything else would be great, And I won't leave long dragged out messages anymore, Thank you.
