Hey guys,
I'm in the middle of rebuilding two 70 CT 70's. I have had one motor already rebuilt by Jeff at Minigunz and know it runs from the bench test. Before I put the bike back together I thought it may be a good idea to test the spark.
I removed the plug, attached the plug wire, and put the spark plug against the case and just hand cranked the kick start. I have no spark. I have the key in the first red and second red position and still nothing.
As a side note, when I bought the bikes, the ignition cable was corroded so the spark plug boot feel right out. It's the ignition that came with the bike and I cut about 1/2 inch back and have a new ignition boot screwed on. I also do not have the battery connected.
Am I to assume I need a new ignition?
The wire harness doesn't seem in bad shape at all and haven't replaced that.
Thanks in advance!
