Exactly! That's why I have no interest in owning a low mile ct70. If I can't ride it, I don't need another dust collector.

I know - agreed but lets all understand the basic cleaning of this example, that's what the tech was about - bring it out - try not to fuck it up by uncovering the example bike - have some fun factor with ease of the work load , finally not a complete restoration . Yet time consuming but easy . And discuss - Do I pull the clear covering off the badge on the muffler side Or leave it to probably turn brown and not be able to get off without damage. I know Just leave it right? Still has the rubber grometts above the right side badge.

Thankfully the rubber grommets are still available new from Honda, and didn't change over time, like most oem parts do.
So any bike can have them!;)

With some of the replies - one of the questions was Tool kit , so while i was working on anothe little Ruby Red that unfortunately needed to be repainted due to being primed to conceal a theft I suspect - everyone likes pictures but this had to be refinished even though it only shows 700 miles - oh and look at the one bar side - oh boy that's a touch - but back to the thread tech - here is what I found under the seat of the low mile yellow 72 - so the cover looks purple and HM is marked on much of the kit - looks unused - is this complete ? Thanks

Don't know if it's complete - there should be a feeler gauge in a pocket of the pouch, but I will say that red handle screwdriver handle makes an original the later and replacement ones are black. On further review you are missing a bar,B handle, number 11 here

Wasn't the feeler gauge only with the K0's? I seem to remember the K0's had the valves specs molded into the tool bag, but the K1/HK1 bag didn't. When I acquired my HK1, the tool bag only had the #7(or #8) missing according the fiche. I ordered one from Honda and it didn't fit the red handle.lol. I've had a theory that not all the kits were optioned the exact same over the production run and, also, that there may have been some that were shorted due to the mass scale they were producing them. It would also be interesting to know if the H model tool kits were different from the 3speeds.

I looked and there is no pocket in the pouch nor is there a feeler guage . #11 is not present . Is 11 a 10 mil, - I have not paid much attention to this bike -since it's such an easy clean vs the others that need basically everything restored . Basically using the low mile as an example of how stuff should be .
Question do all Honda's have weak plating on the underside of the fenders . The top side is very good but the underside are less than desirable .

I wouldn't worry about the tools on this one as it was probably just shorted that spanner tool. They're basically worthless as a tool anyways.lol. If you really want one for it, probably find one on ebay or someone here. There are also FB sites for these bikes. Kinda doubt Honda still sells the replacement, but cant hurt to try.

Yes, that plating underneath is usually really thin of all the ones I've found.

I agree with CJ but if you really want one Partszilla shows them in stock for a whopping 2.51 part number
99005-02000. I'll bet if your near a Honda dealer they could get one as well

I am not at the point of being fussy about what is missing out of that tool kit but appreciate the report back - I wonder if the available missing pieces are the same if ordered from Honda
