If it hasn't been done already, convert your battery to a sealed one. Theyre pretty cheap and far more reliable. If you dont have a good battery, it will burn out the headlight.

went to the DMV yesterday and transferred the title, back out today, I think my big boy bikes are feeling neglected :)

everywhere I've been is in a two mile radius from my house so a ride ( or two ) was in order to shake down the bike. I found the seat foam to be shot and the clamp on mirror to be useless so those were my first upgrades, i'll get out for a short ride tomorrow and test them out. next up will be front brakes, a headlight bulb and a speedometer cable

Yes it's hard to see anything except your shoulder with most mirrors.IMG_0069.jpg I like the round 7/8 bar end mirrors. I just run the one on the left side.

I agree completely, made the change years ago. Bar end mirrors can also play nice with the engine guard, when the bars are folded.

Traditional style mirrors need to be mounted on ridiculously long stalks to be useful...causing all kinds of problems.
