I have been lurking and participating in this forum for a couple of years. I have 4 soft tails that in various stages of being complete. The 2 77's are almost there. I also have 2 74's that are complete except for painting the tank, forks and side covers. I should get the painting done this winter.

A few before pics:

Thank you for the compliments. Been working on these for a couple of years. They are going to be gifts to my grandchildren so I wanted then to be mechanically sound and look decent to excellent. Most likely, I'll restore 1 of the 4 mechanically but not put on the painted parts on until they learn how to ride. I'm also well on my way to having a couple extra sets of tanks, side covers and front forks painted so they can install & sell, put on display, or pass on down the line long after I'm pushing up daisies.

Another plus, I disassembled these all the way and used new honda hardware with generous amounts of lubriplate grease, or anti-seize depending on the application. Trying to avoid any future headaches.

Hello from Yorkshire in the UK.
This is my Honda Z50a K4 which I've owned for two weeks now.

As you can see, there are a few parts missing, but I can soon sort that out. I have had it running and aside from a stuck carb float it sounded good and ran well. It's now stripped and being prepared for the power coater.

Here is 1981 Z50R with reversed handlebars, 125cc QIYE clone engine with manual 4speed
and new rear shocks, new tank, new tires frame off Dupont Imron 2 part paint.
Scary to ride. my 1st priority is to obtain plus 6in (or +8 ) swing arm replacement. Weight = 115 pounds ! Also the seller said he had put an exhaust from a CT-70 on it but I am not sure.
EDIT several months later, Also shown now is my plus 8 inch extended swing arm and my new kickstand. Not so obvious is the swapped front and rear sprockets for tractor like torque now.

Just picked her up on Saturday. Does anyone know anything about the silver tag? I know early models had a few parts that were different. This bike came with white fenders. I assume those are aftermarket? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Fenders were originally chrome plated. Taillight bracket was crack-prone on early silver-tag models and later K1's utilized a stronger bracket design.

Welcome to the forum.
