Running with the Dax...

Ray and I took a nice 52-mile ride and grabbed some lunch along the way. 68 degrees out. We were climbing some real big hills, and his Dax had no problem with the long stroke 4 speed automatic. I made it home without filling up but was on fumes on the reserve side tank. 40 on the main and 13 miles range, for the side tank.

Bring it by tomorrow, if possible for another rip Ray. It was a blast. 👍 I will fill up at the Shell and make that left at the light for a different route back to my place.

Nice bike CLEC66. You have to be able to do 50mph for long runs to ride around here. The Dax front end would have to go. 50 and potholes don't mix with the pogo. I was dodging a few yesterday.

Yeah I just ride it as neighbor hood cruiser on an antique tag. Luckily no potholes in west Texas!! I have K1 front end I could put on it but I wanted to keep original removable front end on the bike.

Wait wait. Is that correct? 40 miles on the main and 13 on reserve? The Monkey and CT125 are both known for getting over 125 miles per gallon. The original CT70's puny fuel tank had half a gallon on the main and another 1/3 on reserve. A half a gallon should get you at least 60-70 miles. Is the fuel tank that small on the Dax? I'll have to check the specs.

Honda's specs on the Dax say it has a 1 gallon fuel tank (i guess including reserve) and it's fuel consumption is 66.7 km/l which works out to 156 miles per gallon. So you should have decent range.

Re read post#1, ''I'' made it home. Last time I checked the new Dax does not have a side tank.. Ray's new Dax has the CT90 style side air cleaner cover, that is now used to hide all the electronics. A 18-20hsp 190-212cc gets 52 miles to the gallon. I even splurge for a little 110 leaded with the 89 ethanol free fuel in my 5 gallon can.. I was doing some sporty riding, lots of full throttle blasts a couple or 5 wheelies, so mpg wasn't a priority. Had it been, I am sure I could squeak out a solid 60 mpg. That's about right on par with Ray's ''Grom'' a fuel injected 300cc CBR.

I get it, and being it's so rare, I thought exactly what you typed. Just leave it on and cruise slow.
