Should I buy this? 110cc dirt bike, $660 with free shipping.

This seems like an amazing price for a 110cc "pit bike". Should I buy it just for fun riding around my land? Downsides? Is this company/website even legit?

Usually, with a 1-dn 3-up shift pattern, it is a royal PITA trying to find neutral, and very easy to downshift from 2nd to 1st, quickly bypassing neutral.

Isn't that the same as any modern motorcycle, except for one or two more higher gears, i.e. 1 down 4-up? This bike has a manual clutch if the specs can be believed.

I really need to look at some of these cheap Chinese bikes in person first to evaluate the quality or lack of quality before buying. That will be the deciding factor. I can't bring myself to buy one sight-unseen, no matter how low the price.

It makes sense to see one in person before committing. I never bought one of the China bikes, but wanted you to know 900 is too much for the Icebear that was left out in the rain. I have had a 1 down 3 up Lifan China engine in a ct70 and found neutral while ''still rolling'' around 5 mph to be easier than when sitting still.

I don't know where you live, but here in so cal, these bikes are pretty common at that price, and can be had for about half that used. They'll last, if not abused. Don't expect any warrantee, though parts are pretty generic.

i would love it if all my mini's had a 1 down 3up shift pattern. i've been thinking about selling my 70cc pit bike and getting a 125cc pit bike or swapping the motor on my 70 to a 125

I like the X PRO 9 125cc better, it has a 17 inch front wheel and a 14 inch rear. That 110 has tiny wheels and no doubt a lower seat height.

Yeah, you are right. Bigger wheels are better off-road. However, the bikes with small wheels are generally priced lower. I'm realizing there are LOTs of choices in these Chinese bikes. What I'd like to know is which brands and even more specifically which models are higher quality. From researching the different brands (without actually seeing any of them in person), it seems GPX, Thumpstar, and YCF brands are three of the best, if not THE three best brands out there.

I'd love to hear from others who have actually seen certain brands of these Chinese bikes in person, along with their opinion on the quality of these specific bikes, rather than opinions on Chinese bikes in general. There seems to be a wide range of quality. Also, some brands seem to have improved greatly in quality over time, so seeing a certain brand of Chinese bike 10 or 15 years ago might not be an accurate indication of what they are like today.

Keep in mind I would be using these for slow trail riding, not jumping, going fast, or use on a track.
