...and he proceeds to tell me he is looking to sell his CT70. He had showed it to me a couple times and always had the intention of getting it fixed up. It was apparently his as a kid and had bounced around the family for many years until he got it back some time ago. More recently, he finally realized he will never have the time to get to the project and wanted to get rid of it.

He knows I fancy little Hondas (I helped him fix a CT90 he used to have), so he came by and gave me first shot at buying it.

After thinking it over, I bought it from him. It is supposed to have a title (which he said still needs to be located), but for $250 I couldn't pass it up. Turns over just fine, and had the key and looks to even have the toolkit under the seat.

My wife hasn't killed me yet...she just rolled her eyes when the kids pointed it out.

Great score for 250. Congrats. Looks to have alot of dust which shows it's been stored indoors and is dry. I would clean it up, get a new seat or recover if possible, and then ride. I would bet the spinner/filter needs attention at 3400miles.

My neighbor dropped off the title this morning, so now just need to get that taken care of and all will be legally in my name.

Now I really wish I had a heated garage...:20: BUT it will be fun to get to spring and summer again when I CAN work on this and a few other projects.

They are out there and will find you when they are ready. They will turn up when least expected,you just have to blurt out I'll take it without thinking. 16 years ago I fell into my CT with title for 100.

Nicely done! You dont find many deals like that anymore out there. I bought two ct70 hko for $650 ($325 ea) but yours is in nicer condition. I'd say you made out well!!

Buy a small box heater. That is what I do and heats the garage right up!

Funny - I just bought a little inside propane heater from Tractor Supply that will heat up my 200sqft shop in 20 minutes. 8000 BTU and runs on those little propane cylinders.

While the walls and doors in my garage are nicely insulated, the ceiling is left open to the uninsulated attic. Not too fun to keep heated in the winter - too much heat loss upward. I should borrow my dad's torpedo heater and see if that would work in a pinch, even for a short while...

It would, of course, be worthwhile for me to insulate it, but I just haven't looked that much into doing so. I have a lot of stuff stored up in the attic (mainly extra motorcycle frames and parts and other stuff) that I would like to still store up there and have access to.

I don't know if I will start a build thread on this one yet, but did want to post an update.

I pulled out this bike today and found that the kick starter shaft seal is leaking, so will need to replace that eventually. I topped off the oil, put in a battery, and wanted to see if it would start. Added some non-ethanol fuel, and 5 kicks later it actually roared to life! I was not expecting that...so I rode it up and down the street in the neighborhood a few times, and it seems to run just fine.

It will need a new bulb for the tail light, as well as a lens, a new horn button, a new hand brake lever, and could stand some new fuel lines, as it decided to mark its territory in the garage a couple hours after I rode it around. The handlebars are bent really close together, so that is a bit odd while riding.

I did also replace the headlight, so there is glass on there now...just need a new bulb since the low beam wasn't working.

I was more than a little impressed that it was actually in running condition...
