ST90 Cam Chain Tensioner

I just purchased a ST90 with 6400 miles on the clock. The bike appears to have been well-taken care of over its life. I got it running again, but it has quite a clackety noise coming from what I believe is the cam chain. I attempted to tension the chain via the bottom bolt cover/threaded rod manual adjustment, but despite turning it WAY in, I never fealt any resistance or noticed any change to the vlackety noise. If anyone has any thoughts please let me know. Thanks

Maybe your chain is stretched beyond adjustment.

Here are two cam chains for a CT70. The droopier one is from an engine with about 2300 miles on it. The other is a brand new D.I.D chain.
