Yeah, it was pretty nice... there was a huge sea of wildflowers in the large field across the narrow lane behind me (something like 10 acres, maybe more), and I meant to get some pics of it, but a vehicle came down that narrow lane and distracted me, I guess. The entire roadside near the spread was covered in flowers too, the pics don't do it justice, LOL. Meh, you've all seen flowers before, so no worries... got a home inspector coming to the house this afternoon, so I may head out to the forest while he's here... wanna visit Jingle Belle's grave one last time, maybe run out to the Rim Road where I had so much fun before I dumped the pit bike and thrashed my knee. It's raining now though, which is good for the forest, but the road might be too muddy for the Mighty Camry, I'll have to check it out. Gotta swap out oil & oil filter too before I go, been meaning to do it lately but I've been caught up in this home-selling bull$h!t. Packing too, but the good news is that, since the price has dropped, NOTHING will be left behind, the pool table, both big TVs, the leather sofa, ALL that stuff goes with me... if these buyers are gonna get cheap on me, I ain't leaving 'em a goldurned thang, LOL. :cautious:

Took some awesome shots out along Rim Road 300 this afternoon, as a tribute to little Jingle Belle who died on MLK Day in January... visited her grave too, everything is greening up nicely with the recent monsoon rains. I'll probably post the shots tomorrow, I have to sort through about 120 photos and pick the best ones to honor Jingle Belle, AYE??? So look for some cool trail shots manana, same area where I used to ride the pit bike and the FrankenBike… y'all will like these pics, I guarantee it. CHEERS!!!

Forgot to mention that there are six rounds of pics, but each round leads to the next one, so no worries...

Yeah, I'll miss that whole wilderness area, it's like having a huge back yard to play in, without the maintenance hassles... never see any badges out there either, which is a good thing. Meh, when I leave it'll be a trade-off , since I'm going back to the beach... or the lake country of eastern OK if I get a wild hair, LOL. Pretty sure I'm going to Washington though, I'd like to do more sailing again on those bays and ocean, I know it's cloudy half the year or more, but at my age I reckon I can take that better than the heat & humidity of an Oklahoma summer.

Don't know about nation wide, but here in the Tulsa area, Walmart is jacking up their starting wage to 14/hr.

I appreciate the info, but I may not even drive anymore... I'm thinking of working in the fishing fleet, or maybe building boats for one of these coastal outfits. Having a blast camping, though I had a glitch with the cat boarding and the kittehs spent the night on the beach with me. It's actually a state park, I'm not doing the hobo thing, I like my hot shower every morning, LOL. Hey, here's a link to what I've been doing, the weather has been awesome for the past two days... felt like I was back in the Infantry for the first few nights of camping, sleeping on two thin foam pads on that cold hard ground, but now I'm STYLIN' with a thick-@$$ air mattress, 10-4? Gonna post this link and bebop down the road, I'm hungry for a bowl of clam chowder and some good grilled fish, fresh caught by the fleet in Westport, a cool little burg where I'd like to live, right on the edge of the continent. You'll see shots of it in this link, plus you can see earlier camping pics on the previous page in this Truckforum.Org thread:

Today's posts run from #421 to #430 in that thread, beginning at the top of Page 43.

Got a SURF CONTEST this weekend in Westhaven, part of Westport, WA, so rain or shine I'll be there to view the action, AYE??? Extended my stay here for six more days so I can look at more fixers and whatnot, haven't quite found the one with my name on it yet, but my plan is working and I'm checking out properties. CHEERS, YOUSE MONKEYBIKING HEE-ROES & CRUSTY MINI DEMONS O' DIRT!!!

Whooooowheeeeeee!!! This glamping number is ROUGH, Boyz, I skipped breakfast today 'cuz I think I'm gaining weight, LOL. Burning bacon-wrapped filet mignons & fresh seafood, pounding craft beers, running around & doing all kinds of stuff, this crazy adventure I call my life is heller good lately but I'll be glad to get into my *new* home, 10-4??? Kittehs & I are in a STYLIN' CAMPSITE, wait till y'all see the classic shots I'm gonna post up next time at the other site... y'all can catch up on what I've been doing by using that last link and checking out the pics, LOL. Friend Doug is bringing some craft moonshine down today, we are gonna PAR-TAY in the site overlooking Willapa Bay, it is awesome. Had a cord of firewood delivered to my site, I'm like Rodney Dangerfield in the Great Outdoors, LOL.

I'm a bit worried about Crackhead because he doesn't stay aware of his surroundings, he gets caught up looking down at bugs or whatever, and this morning I saw a big ol' Golden Eagle in a treetop not far from the site... I don't want Crackhead to get picked off and become a food item for that goddam bird. Thing sounded like a dragon in flight, big ol' wingbeats and talons for hooking 30-lb. salmon... poor little Crackhead wouldn't have a chance. Hope he's okay, I'm trying to make him more aware of the danger from above, even though there are trees & ground cover. Sage is wise, he's very wary in the field, but Crackhead sometimes gets distracted. I'm heading back to the site soon, with luck Crackhead is safe. :cautious:

I put the kittehs in the Mighty Camry at dusk every evening, just in case some big ol' owl is lurking nearby... those birds are aggro. Got a line on a killer property, the agent never listed it because she knew it was the sort of property I'm seeking, a fixer on the cheap, LOL. The trailer is a goddam train wreck, and I'm checking my options with regarniced to swapping it out, but the LAND is insane, a picture postcard view of the Willapa River (pronounced WILL-uh-pah) on .38 acres, with an undeveloped forested ridge behind and to one side, so the property feels much larger, the taxes are only $400 per year, utilities already in, and I can buy it for $22.5K, LOL. "Toto, we ain't in Cali anymore, that $h!thole!!!"

I can dump $30K into this property and have a STYLIN' PAD in freakin' PARADISE, huge covered wraparound deck outside, metal Pro Panel roof, new flooring, etc., maybe a goddam hot tub out there if I have enough money left, LOL. Already got two job offers, so I'm not worried about that scene, right now my priority is to ink a contract on a property, get situated, and pull a couple months of rehab... not celebrity rehab, but actual work on my *new* home. Friend Doug is an excellent carpenter & woodworker, so he'll help me with all that, AYE??? Good man, Friend Doug, and he makes good moonshine too, the best I've ever tasted. Wait till y'all see the accommodations I'm gonna set up for the visit, I just dropped $450 at WallyWorld to style us both out, you'll laugh when ya see the pics... gotta post 'em next time around, 10-4???

ALRIGHT, HEROES, BACK TO SOUTH BEND, OYSTER CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!!! LOL. THINK I'LL SPLURGE ON A SEAFOOD RESTAURANT DINNER THIS AFTERNOON OR EARLY EVENING BEFORE KICKING OFF THE PAR-TAY, LOL. GOTTA BE PARKED BEFORE WE GET OUR DRANK ON, YEAH???

CHEERS, YOUSE KNUCKLEHAIDS... ER, I MEAN YOUSE MONKEYBIKING HEE-ROES & CRUSTY MINI DEMONS O' DIRT!!! OLD CT, YER STILL A KNUCKLEHAID, LOL. ;)

Man, oh man, this relocation business and glamping number are catching up to me... I told my friends that it'll either toughen me up or finish me off, don't know which yet, LOL. Hey, y'all, you've heard of "industrial accidents?" Well, I had a "RECREATIONAL ACCIDENT" the other night when I accidentally bear-sprayed myself, you can read it at the other site, same drill using the link. Gotta go do laundry and make phone calls now, I have an appointment with the realtor tomorrow to sign a written offer, just gotta work out the stipulations or terms of the offer, 10-4??? I want to price some more slab work and pole barn action before I commit, but it looks pretty good so far, yeah??? Hey, some of these logging roads through the woods would be EXCELLENT for monkeybiking, and I just read in a local rag about a Rally Race coming to the Grays Harbor area, the TOUR DE FOREST, LOL. I'm in Pacific County, just south of Grays Harbor County, but all that action is only a short drive away, same way the primo bathing & surfing beach at Westport is just down the road a little bit. OKAY, BOYZ, I'M OFF, MORE ON THIS KRAZY VENTURE LATER... CHEERS!!!

Recreational accident - this will be a good read. I’m already laughing and I didn’t even click on the link yet.

Wife and I spent 3 weeks vacationing in the Pacific Nortwest - all along the coast camping plus Crater Lake, little bit of Cali, and over to the dry eastern side of the Cascades. That was one of our best vacations.
