Yeah CT, that was scanned from a slide. Taken with a Petri 7S 35mm view finder camera that my brother bought me in Saigon in 1963. That's my wife on the bike. The first time she attempted to ride it she had the first time "frozen right hand" on the throttle. Almost crashed into a garage.

I dug up some old 8mm film. Here's the CT70 in 1971. My wife learned to rotate the throttle grip.

I installed the HK1 decals this morning on this built from scratch CT by me in 2008. A 140cc powered bike.79 front with a K0 frame.

Before and after pictures of resto/mod 69'.
This was my 8th birthday present from dad back in 1976. It was used, but no matter to me. Very happy I held on to it all this time. Probably enjoy it more now, than I did back then! Makes lots of people smile...

Have two other ct-70's. One of which I am working on. Bob is working his magic on the other. Still away to go before picture posting on either. I will update as they come along.

Nice Bike!! It would be great to hear about the mods. Start a thread to tell us more about it. I see the forks exhaust oil cooler, carb. What are they how do you like them and what do we not see?

Thanks fella's!! It's not as nice as some I see on this sight, but I am very happy with my first effort. The sentimental factor is what's VIP me. My dad is getting up there in years. Nowadays grandchildren seems to be the only thing that really makes him smile. I was tickled by his reaction when I first showed him. He did not realize I had held on to it all this time. That alone was worth the time and $$ spent!
Plus the uncountable memories since 1976. :)

I think I covered some of the basics of front end in a post "ol blue resto/mod 69'", or something like.
The motor is the original, but mod'd to 108, by Darrell Gunderson. Highly recommend his services. He does awesome work!
The exhaust, oil cooler, and motor upgrades are all from Trailbikes. Chg'd carb to a real mikuni, (also highly recommended).
The swing arm I believe came from CHP? The 12", staggered width, one piece rims are from CHP. I like them very much! Worth the +6 months it took to get them in from x the pond... They run very true! Much better than any two piece type rims I have ever been exposed too. Plus the better selection of rubber.
If I missed anything, I'll try to add to this post.
If ya have any other questions, see if I can help point ya in prefered direction.
I am by no means as qualified as many on this sight. Just an ol farm boy, w a book, and Darrel's phone number. Lol.
He has helped me out on more than one occasion. I can't say enough about Darrell. He's a supreme being!
