Unbelievable

Some people will do anything for a buck. Take a look at this one guys and you are truly going to be sick to your stomach. Why people do this to a beautiful 34 year old piece of history is beyond me.

The guy is an idiot. I sent him a question on why not sell as a running bike. He replied he wanted $2,500 and wasn't going to get it, so he thinks he'll get $2,500 out of just a few parts by themselves?????

Part out

Well...I don't think he'll get 2500 for it complete but probably would have done better with it complete for a reasonable price. .

I've seen prices on really nice stuff go for this:

Handlebars: $100+
Motor: 300+ (non restored)
Carb: 70
wheels with tires 100
frame 100
seat 100
harness with key 75
throttle 20
engine guard 60
pegs 25
Fenders 80
Rear light 45

He'll max out around 1200 plus all the time and effort. He could probably sell it for 1500.

This guy is a f-ing tool :firefire::Booty:
But gentlemen, this is a perfect example of why our complete bikes are going to continue to go up in value. Idiots like this dude our going to make complete bikes worth more and more as time goes by. :13:

I agree with everything that has been said, but here's my point. A beautiful bike in this type of shape and condition is very rare not to mention hard to find, why on earth would you tear it apart? GREED!

Might as well capitalize on this guys stupidity and pick up some nice parts on the cheap.

Tried! Offered what I thought was a fair price for his pegs/kickstand assembly. He refused. So I sent him not one but two item numbers for the exact shtuff that have not sold for quite awhile even while they were listed @ 1/2 off! He responded his were better, yadda-dadda. So I wished him good luck... :der:

It looks like the wrong exhaust and seat too.

Send him an offer on all the parts as a bundle purchase and ask to have it packaged in one box. :39:

That a bike will usually net more cash parted-out than as a complete bike is just one of those oxymorons of the specialty bike & car scene. I cannot recall ever seeing a `75 change hands for $2500, so if the bike were as-represented & sold at a more opportune time of year it could conceivably net close to $2K as parts, based on the high end of key rare parts on this model in top shape. Now look closely at the listing, if this is a first-rate example, where's the mileage? Why only two well-exposed photos showing no detail? The exhaust is not original, the turn signals are AWOL and one headlight mount appears dented. No telling what else is wrong, bet the seller knows & is hiding it. A super-nice original bike being parted out is a bit sad, but this guy is strokin':wank:

Right on guys!

I sent him a little hate mail as well. Maybe we saved this one from the buzzards. Hopefully someone will buy it now, and give it the home it needs. Even though it is not flawless it is still a crime to part it. Paint is better than any of my 4 unrestored bikes, and i would'nt think of parting any of mine out, hope i never get that hard up!

That engine is obviously an auto 3 speed. So either missed a number on the serial number or the trany's been switched. But then again the Rear foot brake/cable assembly hardware for the hand brake is missing on the right side assembly. The left and right handlebar switches don't look right.
