It’s pretty much done just a few very small details to knock out ( add oil, gas, and paint a few small clips and cable an hose holders) . Then I’ll finally get it out in the sun light and take some good pics and a video...for some reason the fairing looks way bigger in pics then it does in person?? Like I said in other posts the jury still out on the fairing!! But It came out pretty close to what I invisioned before I started the build.. I shined a flashlight at it so pics weren’t sooo dark from bad light..can’t wait to hear what it sounds like an ride it!!! image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Nice nice nice!! Great job Robert.

I think maybe wait to see how it's gonna look in the sun before you delete the gold.

The custom paint is a huge part of your nice bike.
I'm wondering if you can give us some idea of a price for the hydro dip paint. In another thread, we've discussed one painter who can do a nice correct candy paint job on a straight frame set for about $750. Is it safe to say the hydro dip...carbon fiber pattern would be double?? $1500..?

Yeah, I agree with Kirby. Take a look at it outside side before you give up the gold.

It’s not really paint ..it is a base coat of paint but the carbon fiber is a film..kind of like the decals you put on old model cars that you had to soak in water when you were I little kid but way more hi tech.... I can ask him but when I brought him my parts I had everything super clean, all dents fixed, primed and already block sanded in urethane automotive grade DuPont primer...( he wouldn’t even try with rattle can primer) it has to be real clean because his water tank is about 500 gallons, its huge and if the water gets contaminated he would hv to completely drain an refill the tank and I know that would piss him the hell off so I scrubbed and wire brushed all way up in the frame an sprayed brake cleaner all around where greasy triple tree area with races out..etc...also before body work I stuck the frame in a hot water jet cleaner I have at work to clean transmission cases..( you could eat your dinner off it when it comes out) .he charged me about $400 for all the parts he did for me but he cuts me a great deal being I bring him a lot of work and have done transmission work for him...did taped one side of the frame and did one side at a time..he sprayed the area where the rear fender goes black .so what he would most likely charge would depend on how the frame was preped and cleaned......so what he does is spray the base color. If candy the silver goes on first then color ( he does gold, blue, red, green candy) then dipps it in the water tank with film then 3 coats of clear...there’s way more patterns than carbon fiber,,,,sculls, wood grain, camo,etc.. he did tell me some film stretches more than some so to do a frame like mine it has to be a film that will stretch a lot to get in all the nooks an crannys...it’s a major process from start to finish but I really want to learn and practice how to do it.. you could do small parts in a 5 gallon bucket like a cam cover on a ct head.... One other thing is the water tank has a heater..I think he said the water has to be 82 to 84 degrees.. and you spray an activator on the film once you set the film in the warm water...if you google “ hydro graphic film” you can see all the patterns but there is some he said wouldn’t stretch enough to do a frame good but would work good on something like a fender..I’m sure there’s u-tube videos on the process ...hope this helps anything you don’t understand feel free to ask me but I’m really no expert like I wish I was!!!!! I’ll call tomorrow and ask a ball park price...he stays just slammed over there so it’s never a super quick turn around..

I'm not really after a price that I would ever hold him to. I just wanted to know if it would be highly expensive, or if it's something that's affordable...a realistic option for a average minibike guy. And it sounds like it IS a affordable option for us.

Here’s some pics in the sun light you guys asked for...all I need to do is add gas ...it should run being it has fire with the key on and no fire with key off....anyone that see’s something off ( other that the gold parts Mr Gunderson...lol) please pipe in...I still have a few small details to add in but this is 99% done...

Bike looks really great and well built.

You PM'd me for my honest opinion. I would remove the fairing and see what it looks like with just the K0 bucket set up.
As far as the gold being removed, either way looks good to me, but I would try to darken the yellow a bit on the "DAX" emblems...if possible. Since it is the CEG type paint, I think I would have gone with the "H" decals. I think the carbon dip looks very....BITCHIN!!!!
