As a strong suggestion, print out and bring the companion instructions to Vermont DMV Form 119. These instructions explain why Vermont does not issue titles to bikes as old as ours. Its better to have these instructions with you for explaining to your local DMV clerk because it might save you a trip later.

Yeah, my corrected amount second bike check was cashed two weeks ago and I received the registration and sticker Thursday. Still waiting for the plate. A rep at Vermont DMV said they ship the plates third class. I guess that means they wait for a passing buzzard to hand it off. As of today, it is a 49.5 week registration, since it is unusable.

Hello,

I'm going for a "two-fer" - two plate applications in one envelope. My latest bike (the CL100) and my very first bike that started this hobby back in 2009 are both going to get plated via the Vermont Method. That CT90 took me a long time to find the correct handlebar switchgear to make the turn signals work to be street legal and the restoration on the CL100 was very easy.

So the envelope is filled out with two applications, two separate checks (in case I messed up one application but not the other), two VIN verifications, two bills of sale, etc. Things are signed . . . so let's see what happens in Montpelier.

Sending my app tomorrow, but I just realized that I forgot to ask them who to fill the check out to. What have y'all put on yours? Can't wait to have the mighty green st90 legal. Spent a whopping $13.03 for 6 months insurance today.

After seventeen days of waiting, I went home for lunch and (insert howling laughter) there they were - my two green plates. One is for my original 76 CT90 that got me started in this crazy hobby and the other is for my latest acquisition - the CL100.

Now the decision - do I ride for a year on the green plates and then eat the Louisiana late registration fees? The fees are relatively low but I might soon be selling the CL100 to raise cash for an Aermacchi Harley Davidson Sprint 250. I need a title.

But I will hold my head high and proud when these two bikes take their first street legal rides here this weekend . . . . cough, cough, chuckle.

Congratulations, Rick!

I'm waiting for my third one for the '94 CT70. It should be another two weeks. In the meantime, I'm legal to ride. Got my Motorcycle Safety Foundation training course completed at a local Harley dealer. Florida doesn't test. They farm it out to the MSF. Just had to go to the DMV to get a new license with the MC endorsement. The school used 500cc Harley Street's for training.

Depends on if those late fees will make or break you. Personally say something like "I was going back and forth to Vermont for 6 months and wanted to ride while I was there so I bought this bike kept it registered in Vermont and then got it shipped out here" and see if that flies? "Vermont told me to register it in their state since I bought it there"-- Sometimes the DMVs are hard asses, but sometimes just sometimes you get that nice guy who is having a really good day because he had morning fun with the wifey.

I did mine through the MSF- two day course fun as hell! I remember I wanted the low rider honda shadow bike- some guy bitched and moaned because I got on it first but HE wanted that bike because blah blah blah blah blah. Anyways he ended up dumping the shadow on the pavement while I learned on a taller enduro bike. Even got a free tee shirt out of it lol. The next weekend I went down to PHX and went to the world motorcycle tour and test road the brand new Victory bikes- that was their first year for the 8 ball I think. Man I still freaking LOVE that 8 ball Victory.
