That's a pretty cool list. One thing that strikes me is that some models listed seem pretty damned thirsty for their displacement (62mpg from an XL100
). "Back in the day" my `70 CB350 used to average around 60mpg, mostly being thrashed to the limits. Though I'm not casting doubt on the basic accuracy of the figures, I have to wonder how some of them were obtained. Perhaps the old reliable "your mileage may vary" disclaimer still has relevance even now.
