"Were going to need a bigger shoehorn!!"

Single carb, would be very hard to fit with what room is left, without more cutting on the frame

I was thikning something like this... with your fabrication skills you could make it a bit more compact:

Your fabrication looks like it will work great, which doesn't surprise me at all :)

Hey Oak, thats a good idea, I'd like to keep it twin carbs, but if that doesn't work I sure would try something like that. Also that extra pic is with a K1 top handel bar mount on the inverted fork front end. Don't have any handelbars yet to try, If it doesn't look right maybe we will go with the motocross bars.

IMO, your twin carb idea is the way to go. Biggest issue will probably getting the float bowls low enough to stay below the tank bottom.

I think we'll have wavers made up for those who want to ride it. plus the usual helmet, gloves, scarf, shin guards, boots, safety gear, reflective tape ha! There's just a Shienway carb for mock-up but have 2 Mikuni's on the way. and the float bowl is about an Inch below the bottom of the tank now. I want to thank Vrodsss, for help on finding a suitable taillight bracket and light, Don for a steel gas tank to trim up, and Crawer for the footpegs tank mount and old guard..... and No Cherry parts were hurt in the building of this Thing. ha ha.

Over the weekend reworked a KO tailight, took an inch out of the bottom, also got an old guard with some holes drilled in it, cut the bottom and going to mount it to the bottom eng mounts in front.

Tail Light Bracket plate

Hey Grant,
Here's a plate I made for my rear fender. Under the plate, the fenders got a big crack in it which used to vibrate and make noise.:102:
Too cheap to buy a new fender, I used this. The other thing that came out of it is, it made a good sturdy foundation for the tail light plus, puts it at a better angle for better visibility.

I'm sure you can guess where I got the plate from .. :16:

Hard to tell how the engine guard will fit, visually, without an overall shot, or three. In the closeups, it looks a tad spindly next to that behemoth (in ST90 terms) engine. It could be spot-on, just can't really tell at this point. I suspect that you might get better visual balance by fabbing your own one-off custom engine guard. Not saying that it's necessary, just suggesting that you keep an open mind, at least until the front end, exhaust, wheels & seat are in place for the final test assembly. With as much custom fab work as you have invested in this project, may as well maintain the critical eye until you're completely satisfied with everything.

Unless I miss my guess the addition of the engine guard also allows you the opportunity to place some of the engine's weight back onto the frame's neck, which couldn't hurt. I'm lovin this build.

This week was working on Carb intakes still have to clean them up some, but now have a left and right. Went with Mikuni VM 20mm carbs. Next up is changing a set of KO foot pegs to fit

Next time I take pic's I'll take some closer ones of them. tried to keep the carbs close to the frame so doesn't infere with your legs.

Until the footrests are on the bike, it's tricky trying to guesstimate where leg interference will be, if there is any. The engine is wider than the carb spacing and the pegs will have to be wider still. Don't be surprised if your legs clear the carbs & air filters by a good margin. G-Craft subtanks are ~4" OD and fit just below the seat, near the front, on CT70s and allow adequate clearance. That location corresponds roughly with the carb airhorn/air filters on your bike. Again, though, that's just wild-assed guessing; the ST90 frame has a bit more acreage than a CT. By all appearances, you'll have enough room for a creatively sculpted dual exhaust, too.

IMO, the lines & proportions flow together with an OEM-like balance, plus something that no stocker ever could have...symmetry.:41:

Grant, your skill continues to amaze me. Once completed, this motorcyle should be a main draw at many shows. I'd pay admission just to see it alone.
