What did I do to my CT today?

The SL70 engine came with the bike? It’s a 1983 Canadian model. Not a factory engine. For this model obviously. The 1983 wire harness had a male connection and so did the engine connection. I bought a set of new connections and re wired the engine lead with the female portion to make it work. Had to add a clutch lever, perch and cable.

It also came with a ct70H stator and flywheel set-up. Which seems to work very well.

Oh yes and I did buck up and bought a new 13 tooth front sprocket from Honda To go with my new chain and rear sprocket.

Nice job with this bike!

A couple pieces of unsolicited advice:
Ditch the 13t C/S sprocket and go for a combo that uses either 15 or 16t. That will mean a larger wheel sprocket. Anything smaller than 15T increases chain wear. And, the larger sprockets will help keep the chain from contacting the swingarm & frame.

As for stator wiring/adaptation, those spade contacts can be removed, re-positioned and reinstalled within the same hard shell connector. FYI, this applies to every multiple-contact connector on the bike. For those doing custom wiring, this knowledge (if for those who don't know it already) can make life easier...and wiring mods OEM-clean.
