I think i have a bent or broken tab on speedometer gear on the Mighty CT 70 so this morning I went out and installed a phone holder, turned on the MPH app and went for a short ride. I knew the app would work cause a friend used the same app to see how fast his minibike went last summer 20200329_092029.jpg 20200329_092041.jpg 20200329_093234.jpg

Check the speedometer connection at the speedometer. The cable can loosen up top easy. If it's not snugged with pliers.

checked both ends of the cable last time I had it apart and I always use pliers to snug the cables down but I remember only seeing one tab

The speedo end of the cable should have a square driver that indexes inside the speedometer. The wheel end should have a fork-shaped piece, into which the blade end of the pinion gear fits. First test I use...disconnect the cable from the speedometer, spin the front wheel. You should see the inner cable rotating; if you do, grab the end with fingers and apply a little clamping force. The cable should still turn, i.e. it should not be possible to stop the cable using two fingers. If it passes those tests, the problem is at the speedo end. It is possible for the cable end to disengage from the speedometer, as OLD CT posted. It's also easy enough to reinstall, just be sure the square cable end is fully seated/engaged in the speedo itself.

rode the Mighty ST 1300 over to JW's and dropped off some stuff he needs to finish up my XL 70, he was out riding around on his CT 70. stopped on the way home and filled up, $19.64 to fill up. got a mural on the way home and once home I drained the gas out of my '85 honda nighthawk 450 and washed it up and put some air in the tires 20200404_140059.jpg 20200404_141143.jpg 20200404_160206.jpg 20200404_170929.jpg 20200404_174000.jpg . once done with that it was time for a ride on the Mighty CT 70
