which bike to build?

Looking for feed back on building a big bore ct 70 street ridin bike. I have a 1978 and a 1981. both are not in the greatest shape but all there. looking up values on these bikes it looks like the 78 is probably worth a little more. don't want to destroy its value by modding it out but, not opposed to it. I have just acquired a 1974 xl 70 motor complete less top end. gonna build a 117cc bigbore out of it. which frame makes more sense to put it in?

+1. I think any appreciable value would me more related to how original a bike is, save something really rare. I vote go with the one with the title. If neither, whichever is less rusty. :)

HaHa, good observations here, I'm with CJ, mod the '81... or whichever bike has a clean title, and in the absence of titles, heed YellowBullet's advice and go with the one which is less rusty, LOL. Don't let the purists fool ya, a modded bike can still be HELLER FUN, especially with a bigger motor in the sumb!tch, 10-4??? But remember to wear your helmet and safety pads, otherwise it'll be ObamaCare City, LOL. :eek:

right now neither have title both are pretty complete. the 81 is the one im leaning towards.still collecting parts. at the same time getting paper work to get it titled.
