I have a hardtail Z50 with a destroyed footbrake. Does anyone know if the later models will work on the hardtail?

    That's a good question.
I have a easy opportunity to look into that for you when I get home today. I'll post what I find.
If not I might have a K2 pedal that I bought cheap if you're interested.

Thanks kirrbby. Yes I'm interested. Also would like to know if the later years work, they seem a lot sturdier.

I do not know if they work, but I have both types laying out in my garage right now, so I can compare them when I'm home this evening.

    This lever is from a 77 Z.
The ID fits the hardtail shoulder bolt, but it's longer. It would have to be cut down some, and maybe need a longer bolt.
Also the part where the brake linkage connects is taller. Hopefully the pics kinda show the rest.
I think it could probably be made to work.

The cheap pedal that I have here is probably from a different bike...ct90 or something. It doesn't have the separate bushing like the K2 Z does. Also, where the bushing goes, it's 3mm shorter than the Z50 part. I think it would work fine...with a Xtra washer.
    $25 plus ship...pedal only...no bolt etc.

If you need more info about the Softail pedal swap let me know.

For some reason I can't open the pics on my computer, I will have to take a look at them from work. Thanks again. I will let you know once I can view them.

I cu finally view the pictures. Thanks for checking into this. I will take it if you think it will work. You wouldn't happen to have a sprocket side spacer would you?

You'll take the cheap K2 look alike pedal? Not the Softail pedal, right? I think that's what you mean. The Softail pedal isn't mine, or available.

The K2 look alike will work, but may need a Xtra washer/spacer...and it will look correct on your bike.

I most likely have the sprocket side spacer. I'll just have to look up the dims, so I'll know it when I see it.

You do have your old/original shoulder bolt for the brake pedal, yes?

Here is the $25 pedal. The bushing is welded in on this, rather than a separate piece like the K2 pedal.

This dimension is 3mm less too. Otherwise, I think it's the same pedal.

Sorry, but I don't have any of those wheel collars. I did find this, in case worse comes to worse.

Thanks Kirby, That will definitely work. Just send me a PM for the payment. Mine is missing the actual pedal part.
I appreciate you looking into this.
