Does anyone know why the XL70 gearshift fork is a different part number than all the other Honda 70 manual clutch engines?
I'm looking for a pair of them, but mainly finding 24211-065-000, and not 24211-118-305.

    24211-065-000 FORK, GEARSHIFT $32.59

    24211-118-305 FORK, R. GEARSHIFT $31.42

Both can be had above and the price is pretty reasonable too.

I've had my fun with the 4 speeds, don't recall any staggering difference.

I appreciate the links. I figured that if Honda is out of them, those other places had to be as well. I ordered them, so we'll see if they show up.

Not surprised. They keep delaying my order, as they just order from American Honda. So since they don't have the part either, Partzilla can't fill my order. Had to cancel and ask for a refund. Will probably order the other part number from the Honda shop here in town and compare the parts and see what difference, if any, there are.

Man, I feel rotten about that. Sorry it didn't work out. I've got a set of used ATC 70 shift forks kicking around somewhere, I'll take some pics and upload them here.

FWIW I know the bore's are identical, I believe the guide pins and lock mechanisms update, but they did that with both forks, not just one.

Other than that, I couldn't guess what might be different?

Here's some fleabay junk (note the radial scoring) to start with

As promised, here's a set of GOOD 85 ATC70 forks (same as 86/87 TRX70), should be the same as what American Honda is selling as new today.

I had these set aside for a build, but I don't think it's going to happen.

I appreciate all the help. I still have not figured out why the xl70 forks are different than the others. Hopefully a side by side comparison will tell the tale.
