Cool, I'm a long way from that bridge though...
I'll start a new thread when I begin this first rebuild, might end up helpin some future rookie eng builder.

I was looking at the flywheel bolt it's a 17mm on the Hitachi flywheel. The 81' JH2 motor is a 14mm and not a Hitachi.

I don't have an impact Driver and I know I'm gonna need one for this kinda work.
I haven't got my pneumatic equip set up yet and I don't have a air impact either. I have to put in a 220v outlet in the garage for my air comp because this new 1/4 mil house didn't come with one...F'nn unbelievable.

I see a lot of cordless ones. what is the preference? I was thinking about gettin one...It's always something!

I've used this one on my bike for years. Inexpensive and never needs recharged.lol. Don't get a real cheapie one though, just don't last long. You will need a good quality inch/lbs torque wrench also(headbolts).

After a lot of research, I came up with this Kobalt 8-Amp corded impact driver. it's got 350 ft-lbs torque and needs no batteries or air compres. I figured might as well get one that can handle lug nuts on my truck.

They sell it at Lowes and if you sign up for their credit card you get 5% off & 6 mo interest free.. This driver comes w/7 deep sockets made for an impact gun. Your not supposed to use regular ones. So w/my discount it came out to $141.55

Taking off this fly wheel was a piece of cake w/this driver. I also used it for the puller tool which incidentally does use the reverse threads on the fly wheel. I'm gonna start a new thread and call it 'rookie re-build', when I start tearing this thing apart. Should be a fun learnin curve.
