Need carburetor help on my 70 KOH please

Called myself doing a good and careful cleaning job today on my original carb of my 1970 H model. Had a leak at petcock that I corrected. Got it running and adjusted to a smooth rpm, but after I revved it up a time or two, it would not return to idle. Had to turn off key. I redid everything 3x, but same results. What am I doing wrong. YouTube makes it look easy! LOL! Thx!

These CT70's are notorious for the twist throttle sticking open. Just twist forward. Is this the issue your having?

Sometimes the throttle slide in the carb will stick. Disassembled, the slide itself should move VERY freely back n forth on its own.

Sometimes the cable sheath will pull itself out of the holder in the carb cap.

I think the slide may be my issue. Thx
