Need Help Identifying a CT70 H model

Hey guys, I just picked up this Honda Ct70 H model. It looks like a HK1 that was repainted in blue. The thing that’s throwing me off is the vin tag - it says is a 1971... But I thought HK1’s were only 1972-73. Is the date on the Vin Tag for the date of manufacturing and is there a such thing as a 1971 HK1???

Early HK1 there #1943 off the line. Someone drilled a few extra holes for some unknown reason. The air canister top hold down is MIA, I would plug the 2 in the canister where the hold down was. Fugly resto job by the previous owner. 8/71 is the beginning of the HK1 as you see. Don't go by the year, go by the model. No HK1 says 73 on the vin tag.

Nope, red or yellow. Post up some pics of that beautiful yellow frame you have for carnold C.J.
The pics I have of it dont do it justice, but this is the best one.

K1 3speed in Candy Yellow Special. Has a slight greenish tint, but its hard for camera's to pick it up.

Interesting, what are the correct decals for my 71/72 HK1? I just had these custom made and I thought they would look good with the blue:

I think someone was planning on putting blinkers on your bike. The headlight ears have some strange holes in them.
