Thanks for the help man, but I just need the flat plate section that the license plate bolts too. I have an original K2 tail light bracket that is not in bad shape, but the license plate part is broken in half I guess from a couple bad wheelies in the 70's. I have seen the flat part of the bracket that the license plate bolts too for sale quite a few times when I was searching for parts when I did not need it. It was sold as as a repair kit that you would have to weld on to your original tail light bracket. Now that I need one I can not seem to find them anywhere. I am going to search a little more and then I guess I will have to bite the bullit and buy one of those repo's.

Shouldn't be too difficult to make the flat piece. Do you have a jig saw that you can put a metal cutting blade in, and a welder or a drill so you can just screw the two pieces together? Lowes and HD sell metal that you can by to fab the part. Wouldn't be a hard part to make yourself, imo.

I could very easily make one, but I like to try to keep as much original as I can. I am not a original fanatic, but I only like to change just little things that don't take away from the original look of the bikes. The repair plates that were out there were really nice and looked just like the originals.

Guys,
Thanks to Don I think, powerage440 I got in touch with the guy who was selling the repair kit license plate holder plates for the taillight brackets. I was very lucky as he only had one left and said it would be a couple of months before he makes any more. He sells them for $25 each shipped. As hard as it is to find good K2 taillight brackets these days I was glad to pay it. I Just figured I would tell you guys who might need one of these things to mark that information down as I had searched everywhere before Don helped me out.

Here is what the replacement plate looks like:
