    Tracking for spark

New points and condenser on green bean. Had to learn to solder. Mitsubishi plate had me scratching my head at first. Got it all back together and it started first kick. 4 speed is fast and fun. Still have a ways to go before I'm comfortable riding it around but it's coming together well. Thanks

    Tracking for spark

The first thing I did when I got old blue was rebuild the carb. Didn't keep me from considering the needle last night. I think I still need some fine tuning on the float. I am just kind of raising and lowering it, trying it, and repeat. Kind of a pain in the arse. There's probably a better way...

    Tracking for spark

Cleaned and adjusted the point on the blue bike and wow. What a huge difference. It runs fantastic. However, after running it around the block it started dumping gas out of the drain line. Drain line was closed so I figured the float was stuck. Took of the carb and all was good. Put it back...

    Tracking for spark

I got sidetracked by my blue three speed. took a break from the green dragon and rode blue around the neighborhood. I recently got a replacement air filter element so I could put the original can back on it. I tuned the carb a little and it sounded pretty good. I took off riding and ol' blue is...

    Tracking for spark

Got the feelers to to the valves on my 1970 3 speed. Think I have an old puller somewhere. Do I have to do any soldering on those points and should I do a condenser while I'm in there?

    Tracking for spark

I guess what I'm wondering is will it spark even if it needs points and condenser? I hear the coils on these things last forever.

    Tracking for spark

I am new to the ct70 world. I recently got my hands on a 1970 3 speed which was easily and quickly up and running. It's been so much fun I decided to get another one. I found another bike 1970 4 speed with a clutch. I paid a little more for it and I hope I didn't get hosed. This 4 speed has no...

Finally got one!!! 1970 CT70 Four speed w/ clutch

I just picked up a 1970 4 speed with clutch. I just started cleaning it up and checking everything out. No spark and a little oil leak. I don't know much about motorcycle mechanics. I sure hope this thing is worth it. The 1970 3 speed was super easy and up and running in no time.

    No Spark

I know this is an old thread but How did it turn out? I am working on my second ct70. This one is a 71 with 4 speed and clutch. All this is new to me. No spark so I've been reading and watching a lot of youtube. Was hoping to read about your outcome. Looks like the best fix is to replace...
