    Reproduction Decals for a CT70 K3

I'd like to be hopeful that NEVC are correct, but the pic looks exactly like the ones I received from DRATV. CHP makes a point of saying that their colors are correct. Unless their picture is off or outdated, the colors are clearly wrong on what they are selling. I can't go off of pictures due...

    Reproduction Decals for a CT70 K3

I am looking for quality reproduction K3 decals. The ones I bought from DRATV are crap. I knew something was wrong when I opened the sleeve they were in. The colors are off. When I went to install one, I noticed it's slightly smaller than my original as well. I've seen these decals elsewhere but...

    1974 CT70 K3 Restoration Project

Decal Adhesive Removal... So many threads here about decal removal, but all are so old I hate to dig them up (some sites get all pissed if you reply to an old thread). I removed my old decal by peeling it off. The edges were curling and it came off mostly in one chunk. The one I took off was a...

Here's a bit of a change of subject while I sort out the lack of spark... My recipe for homemade candy Rivera Blue (sort of) - scroll to post #12 https://lilhonda.com/index.php?threads/candy-riviera-blue-color-match.21638/#post-171801

    Candy Riviera Blue Color Match

Homemade Blue Riviera Candy... Here are some pics of what I was able to accomplish with DupliColor products. I'll admit my results were slightly more greenish than true Riviera Blue, but Riviera has some green of its own, so it's not too far off if you're dealing with parts that are curved...

If I had to guess, it's either my spark plug wire splice from old to new cable, or something on the stator. Points and Condenser are new. Points are set correct or darn close. This is one of two bikes I learned to set points on back in the late 70's, so I'm pretty sure it's right. All I can...

Bypassing the black wire to the coil didn't make a difference. Since the harness is new, I didn't have high hopes. Pretty sure the ignition switch (assuming you mean the key switch) is grounded, but will double check. Again, I get green neutral light on speedo. What's next? I can either gut the...

I'm a little unclear exactly how I should jumper the HT Coil and perform the test. More detail please. Here's some background info on my wiring: - The wiring harness is brand new reproduction - I connected as many wires in the headlight junction area as possible, like color to like color...

BTW, hardest part of the reassembly, by far, was getting the kill switch screw in the kill switch internal post. I bet I worked on that for 20 minutes or more. It was my very last step at 3:30am. Because the throttle cable goes right through the same space and the post flops all around, it's...

Thanks for the compliments. I might change your minds if I took close up pics of all the flaws. I'm guessing we all focus mostly the flaws when we look at our own projects, where the average person wouldn't see them or care. Regarding the lost pics, I messaged with Tiegden after the migration...

    1974 CT70 K3 Restoration Project

It's Finished! Well, mostly. It's even an award winner on it's first debut out of the garage! I put in many many late nights and one final push til 4 in the morning to get it together for a car show last weekend. My son and I hit a major low point the day before when we failed to get any...

    1974 CT70 K3 Restoration Project

I thought re-assembly was going to be so much fun. Ugh! Seems to be taking forever. It's at this point I wish I had paid the extra $800 and had the frame done now instead of down the road some day. I was running the new fuel lines and ran into something that didn't match up with my tear-down...

Assembling the final part on the engine...left side cover. Noticed that the lower rear mount hole below the sprocket in the case is stripped. Helicoil? I've never used one before. Is that my best option? I could go up a size and tap it but the screw would have to be up-sized as well. I'd...

I ordered the correct clip. $1.13 for the part, $7 for shipping it 50 miles. As long as I was spending all that shipping, I decided to order two and a couple more things. Dumb, but I understand their need to simplify their shipping options.

HELP! Cover Guide Pin Fell Into the Case - Now What?

I use a standard set of snap ring pliers with round pins. It's just a little bit more touchy because there are notches, not tabs with holes. I'm not sure why they used this odd style of ring. Why not use a standard snap ring with tabs? Must be a reason.

HELP! Cover Guide Pin Fell Into the Case - Now What?

Here's that primary gear circlip. Note it's not the usual clip with ring plier holes. It says it's 17mm. Will any old 17mm clip work if thickness is right? Curious why they used this style without tabs and holes.

HELP! Cover Guide Pin Fell Into the Case - Now What?

Yah, the more I think about it, I'd better replace it. More delays. :( But, a chance to order a couple of more parts. Thinking about a new chrome strip on the frame top, a broken blinker housing, maybe a lens or two while I can still get them...always something more.

Progress! Slow but picking up the pace once the engine is done (stupid dowel pin). The frame looks good from a distance with a few blemishes up close. I chose to leave it the original paint for now and any original parts that cleaned up well. Maybe I'll spend the extra $800 someday on the frame...

HELP! Cover Guide Pin Fell Into the Case - Now What?

Finished the job. Took my time, and a good chunk of the day with a late start, lunch break and clean up. What a dirty job. There's no way to do it without spilling and making a mess. Good thing I did it in the garage. Slippery and heavy. Nobody told me marvel mystery oil smelled so disgusting...
