I’m having a problem when I go to kick it over, the Kickstarter kicks through smoothly the first few kicks and then it gets kinda stiff or spongy the next fee kicks then goes smooth again. Then repeats. But once it starts it runs great. I’m thinking it’s in the head maybe valves need adjusting...

The two bolts that come out of the frame for the rear shocks, are they permanently in there or do they screw out? I broke one off.

Thanks for the advise. Everything seems smooth and I’m gonna see how this goes for future verification. Someone needs to be the guinea pig.

I ended up putting the crank and cylinder in evapo rust and it came out great. The cylinder was the worst since the piston was stuck in there with water sitting on top. Had it in there a couple hours and then cleaned it up and coated with oil.

I was just thinking, if I put my crank in evapo rust would it ruin the crankshaft bearings? My guess would be it should be fine if I clean it good then dip it in oil.

Ok thanks for all the info. I want to this buy to have as many original parts as possible so i'm going to look for this whole setup.

does this look like it original to my ct70? Pegs are square and the kickstand is a 1 1/2 shorter than my other 70’s.

.013 is all I could get in, I’m thinking is going to be usable.

There is a little side to side play, maybe about a 1/16. And I guess the rust isn’t too bad it’s just were some water was sitting.

On a side note, is there anyway to clean up a little bit rusty crankshaft? So i can just use my old one?
